PREP COOK
Kanak Attack Katering is looking for an experienced prep cook to join our growing team. Candidates must display the ability to work as part of a team well as self-manage tasks assigned to them. Successful candidates will be quick learners who work well under pressure. Applicants seeking to expand their culinary knowledge with a willingness to work and learn will excel in this position. New employees will be trained to meet Kanak Attack Katering’s standards, but must also demonstrate sufficient culinary knowledge and experience.

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferably one year of kitchen experience, but will train those serious about a future in culinary arts
• Familiar with knife handling and safety
• Has strong customer service skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be punctual, reliable, and have a flexible work schedule with the ability to work days, nights, weekends, and some holiday hours depending on work demand
• Must be able to work overtime when needed including emergency overtime during busy season
• Applicants must be able to work quickly and maintain a professional, positive attitude in stressful situations
• Ability to lift 50lbs, and stand for up to 10 hours in a day
• Must maintain a current valid automobile driver’s license if required as part of the job as well as a good driving record

Key Job Tasks
• Prepares meats, seafood, vegetables and other items required for line and catering
• Carefully follows standard recipes when prepping and preparing all items
• Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portioning sizes and recipe specifications
• Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling practices
• Uses knives and other utensils according to safety standards
• Uses food prep equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions
• Keeps work station clean at all times
• Returns unused food to proper storage areas
• Returns soiled food prep utensils and other smallwares to proper areas
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
• Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager
• Informs Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortages
• Shops for ingredients using specified vendors
• Follows driving directions and deliver orders on strict time requirements


FOOD TRUCK LINE COOK
Kanak Attack Katering is looking for a positive, energetic individual to run our food truck. Our food truck attends numerous public events including Art in the Park, the International Food and Culture Festival, Meridian Community Block Party, as well as many private events. Our food truck cook must be able to work equally well with cashiers and teammates at large events and as the sole on-site employee at small events all while demonstrating an up-beat, can-do attitude. Candidates must display the ability to work as part of a team as well as the ability to manage individual tasks with little to no supervision. Successful candidates will have excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure. New employees will be trained to meet Kanak Attack Katering’s standards, but must also demonstrate sufficient culinary knowledge and experience.

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Applicants must have prior kitchen experience
• Must have customer service experience
• Is comfortable handling money, using a cash register, and familiar with POS systems
• Must be punctual, reliable, and have a flexible work schedule with the ability to work days, nights, weekends, and some holidays depending on work demand
• Applicants must be able to work quickly and maintain a professional, positive attitude in stressful situations
• Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for up to 10 hours in a day
• Is comfortable driving large vehicles
• Must maintain a current valid automobile driver’s license if required as part of the job as well as a good driving record

Key Job Tasks
• Uses our Standard Recipes for preparing all products.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work station including tables, shelves, walls, refrigerators, freezers and equipment used
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
• Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager
• Informs Kitchen Manager immediately of any product shortages
• Follow driving directions and strict time requirements
• Greeting customers, taking orders, and providing correct change when working in the food truck
